User registrations and roles

While we went live with this site, as scheduled, we're still working to include additional features, access and information for new members.

We encourage new member registrations, with the default newsletter subscription -- this will enable us to keep everyone informed of latest developments.

Presently we're expecting to fine-tune a number of roles for new members, which will essentially be as follows:

1. "Anonymous user" = basically everyone on the net who visits the site, but who is not logged in.
2. "Authenticated user" = registered (approved) website user, who can post comments and create blog posts. Click to Register to this website.
3. "Content author" = registered website users who can post events, stories, poems, news announcements and reports, in addition to the above. Generally, those who are financial members of the Clan MacRae Society of Australasia and New Zealand would normally be delegated this role.
4. "Publisher" = administrator who can edit, or if necessary remove other contributor's content; delegate roles to new members, in addition to performing all the above (post comments, blogs, events, news, stories etc.).
5. "Administrator" = committee members who can assign roles to users, and perform various website functions (e.g. system backups), change system details as required.
